Pick Up Fair Wrist Bands & Ride Passes
Who: 4-H and FFA Members
When and Where: Senior Fair Office
Tuesday, July 15th, 9:00 AM to 5:00 PM
Wednesday, July 16th, 9:00 AM to 5:00 PM
Thursday, July 17th, 9:00 AM to 9:00 PM
Cost: $10.00/member
Ride Passes: Choose from a one-day ride band or a sheet of 30 tickets. If you misplace your ride pass we are sorry, it is your loss.
Other Admission Tickets: Purchase membership, exhibitor and other Fair admission tickets now in the Fair Office, 8:30 AM to 4:00 PM, Mon.-Fri.
4-H & FFA Member Behavior Policy at Fair
- Abide by the 4-H Youth Code of Conduct and/or the FFA Code of Ethics while at the fair.
- Don’t possess or drink alcoholic beverages! It is against Ohio Law for anyone under the age of 21 to possess or consume alcohol in any public or private place in the State of Ohio. The Fair Management will aggressively enforce.
- If you are charged with any offense including but not limited to, any alcohol offense, unruly behavior, or disorderly conduct, while on the Clark Co. Fairgrounds you will be subject to disciplinary action that includes:
- Disqualification and removal of your Jr. Fair project(s)
from the grounds.
- Forfeiture of any monies received over and above the
resale value of livestock sold.
- Barring from participating in any Jr. Fair activities
during the current fair and/or future fairs.
Jr. Fair Board Dance
When: Monday, July 21
Where: 8:00 PM - 10:00 PM, Champion Center
Who: Junior Fair participants with a wristband may bring one additional guest into the dance. There will be no
re-admittance once you leave! The same Jr. Fair rules and regulations apply to the dance as other fair activities.
Become A 2009 Jr. Fair Board Member
Who: 4-H & FFA members, H.S. Sophomore through College Freshmen that have not reached their 20th birthday by Jan. 1, 2009 and have participated in two or more years in Junior Fair.
Term: 2 years with the option to reapply for one more year.
How: Apply on-line clark.osu.edu/4h/fair.htm, www.clarkcountyfair.org or pick up an application from the Fair Office or the Extension Office. Application deadline is September 1st with interviews on Saturday, September 13.
What: Jr. Fair Board members work with Sr. Fair Board Members & 4-H/FFA Species Committees to help create and carry out great fun & competitive opportunities at the Fair.
Fair Set-Up
Join the 4-H committee and the specie committees to help set up on the following dates. Helping hands will make the jobs get done faster and easier!
Youth Building Set-Up: Monday, July 14, 5:00 PM, Youth Building (help set-up booth dividers)
Turkey & Duck Barn Set-Up: Monday, July 14, 6:00 PM, Cattle Barn 6 now the Turkey & Duck Barn
Rabbit & Chicken Pen Set-Up: Monday, July 14, 7:00 PM, Rabbit/Poultry Barn
Dog Barn Set-Up: Thursday, July 17th, 6:00 PM
4-H Club Booths at the Fair
Return Club Booth Request Card by July 1st to the
Extension Office
Set-Up: July 18, 9:00 AM-9:00 PM, Youth Bldg.
- Please set up your club’s fair booth and member’s
project exhibits during this day and time only. Club
booths not set up during this time will be
disqualified from the Club Booth Contest.
- White paper will be provided to cover the
insides of your wooden booth panels or bring
your own covering.
- Booths will be placed back to back again this year.
- State Fair Delegates will display these projects in
their club booth with a State Fair Delegate
Rosette.
4-H Club Booths will be judged on Sat. July 19th.
Top Ten and Honorable Mentions will be posted in the
Youth Building by 6:00 PM, Sunday, July 20th. Winning
clubs, please have club member(s) and/or volunteer(s)
attend Winner’s Review on Tues., July 22 to receive
your club’s award.
Tear Down: July 26th, 9:00 AM-Noon, Youth Bldg.
You may not remove any projects prior to this time.
4-H Barn Decorating and Set Up for Clubs
Decorating & Set-Up: Tues., July 15 til Fri., July 18th
Judging: Saturday, July 19th for Top Ten Awards
Overall, Top Ten Areas in Swine Barns and Top
Overall in Dairy Area.
Judging criteria includes: incorporation of fair
theme, neatness and cleanliness of barn area and
animals, use of club name and identification of
members, and eye appeal.
Tear Down: Pens may be torn down after animals are
released. All stalls and pen areas must be cleaned and
torn down per specie department rules.
