About the Program

The horticulture program in Clark County is staffed by Horticulture Educator/County Extension Director, Pam Bennett, Program Assistant, Carolyn Allen, Office Associate, Jo Brown, Office Assistant, Kathy McConkey, Office Assistant, Cindy Schneider, and a volunteer staff of 83 Master Gardeners. The program features the Gateway Learning Gardens which includes field trials of annuals, a turf test plot, phenology garden, herb garden, heritage vegetable garden, children’s garden, and mixed border perennial displays for both shade and sun. Master Gardener volunteers answer gardening questions throughout the growing season on the Horticulture Helpline. Additionally, the Way to Grow Community Garden Program organizes approximately 30 vegetable and flower gardens within Clark County.
