Annual Plant Sale - Part 2!

Info: Mother Nature did not cooperate during our big annual sale on May 3rd, therefore, please join the Master Gardener Volunteers of Clark County in the fenced area at SPGA on Friday, May 9th, from 12:00 to 4:00 p.m. as we are selling the remaining annuals, perennials, veggies, herbs and houseplants. Proceeds collected will benefit Snyder Park Gardens & Arboretum. Feel free to bring your wagon or cart to haul your goodies! 

Proper Tree Care Workshop

Info: Clark County MGV Tree Committee will demonstrate the proper techniques for planting, pruning, watering and mulching a tree. Discussion will include choosing the right tree for the right space in your yard and what to look for and avoid when shopping for a tree. Participants will meet at the Wingert Tossey Pavilion. Program is free but donations will be accepted in support of future programming and development in SPGA.

Hypertufa Workshop

Info: “Hypertufa” is a mix of cement, peet, vermiculite, & water, making a clay-like mixture that is packed around a mold to create a unique, stone looking container. Join Clark County Master Gardener Volunteers for a fun workshop while creating a hypertufa pot for your garden. Registration is required as class size is limited.

Info: Herbs have been grown for centuries, for food as well as medicinal purposes. In current times, herbs are colorful and interesting easy-to-grow plants in a garden or containers, with a bonus to add an extra bright flavor to any dish. Join Kim Bachman, Master Gardener Volunteer, and registered dietitian to discover ways to grow and use herbs to add interest to your daily menu. This event will be held at the Garden of Eatin’ at Snyder Park Gardens & Arboretum. Bring your own lawn chair and enjoy the evening. Donations will be accepted.

Info: Join Master Garden Volunteers and learn about pruning concepts, tools, and techniques. Make sure to bring a small garden tool to be sharpened! Registration is required. To register and pay in advance, you can send a check to Clark County Master Gardeners, PO Box 158, Springfield, OH 45501 or drop payment off at the OSU Extension office locate at 3130 E Main Street, Springfield, OH. Please note Tool Sharpening Wksp on the memo line. You may also pay on the day of the class with cash or check but please call the OSU Extension office to register (937) 398-7600. The workshop will be held (inside) regardless of the weather.
